such as Dupont, GE, Samsung Electronics, Nestle, Philips, Nokia,
have established their companies in Dongguan. The products with
mark of "made-in-Dongguan" are sold well worldwide.
WELL-DEVELOPED INDUTRIAL CLUSTERS, SUPPLY & DISTRIBUTION
to the well-developed industrial chain, the factories in Dongguan
can easily find their suppliers and processing partners locally,
and most importantly, the customs clearance procedures are much
simpler. If the companies directly purchase the commodities, which
are processed or assembled by the imported materials & parts,
the import tariff will be exempted after the purchaser has finished
the customs clearances procedures. So, the materials and parts can
be made and delivered within one day.
MAINSTAY INDUSTRY ---- IT MANUFACTURING
are around 3,000 IT factories in Dongguan. 95% of the computer parts
and accessories can be easily found here. The output of magnetic
heads, mainboards, monitors, scanners, mini-motors etc account for
20%-40% of the world market, which makes Dongguan an important purchasing
base for computer-giants, such as IBM, Compaq, HP and Dell.
The annual "China (Dongguan) Int'l 3C Exposition" (3C
- Computers, Communication & Consumer electronics) is held in
October and just between CECF -- China (Canton) Export Commodities
Fair, and CHTF - China (Shenzhen) Hi-tech Fair. 3C Expo is regarded
as the 4th largest fair in IT industry, after COMDEX in Las Vegas,
CeBIT in Hannover and CompuTex in Taipei.
